The sheet is delivered with an oil coating. To allow the corrosion process to begin, the oil must first be removed from the surface.

Corten sheets and expanded metal products in our e-shop are supplied in their original manufacturing condition (grey-silver steel without a surface patina). The patina formation process can be accelerated by applying a vinegar solution to the surface or allowed to develop naturally through exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Please note that during the patination process, temporary “staining” of surrounding areas may occur (e.g. rust runoff) until the surface patina has fully stabilized. We recommend installing the sheet metal or expanded metal only after the patination process has been completed.
